    Wednesday, April 10, 2024.  This week started with a celestial show of the solar eclipse partially viewed here in Florida – next one in 20 years! - and here on earth it’s the big Seatrade Expo at the Miami Beach Convention Center.     Friday, May 3, 2024, Port Everglades Association Business Luncheon, 11.30am – 1.30pm at Lauderdale Yacht Club. “REDCON: Always at the Ready at Port Everglades.”  Leaders of a trio of locally based world-class maritime emergency response organizations, Cliff Berry Inc., Resolve Marine and the Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue & Emergency Services Department are all based right here at Port Everglades and are always in Readiness Condition (REDCON) often working collaboratively in a broad range of critical circumstances, as well as furnishing vital training to responders from around the globe. Presenters are Cliff Berry II, President & CEO, Cliff Berry Inc., which since 1958 has provided around-the-clock comprehensive services.  Chauncey Naylor, Director of Administration and Matthew Bierwagen, Tender Manager both at Resolve Marine, are now in its fifth decade with offices spanning five continents.  Harris Henbest, District Chief, BSO’s Port Everglades Command and Search Team Manager for Florida Task Force 2.     Last week Port Everglades Officials, Partners and Elected Officials celebrated three new Super Post-Panamax Container Gantry Cranes going into service with a ribbon cutting.  Port Everglades now has a total of container cranes to 13 container gantry cranes (six are Super Post-Panamax and seven are Post Panamax) and one mobile harbor crane.
